About four months before Donald Trump Jr. went to Mongolia in August, where he reportedly managed to get a coveted permit to kill a threatened-species of sheep after he shot and killed the animal, the Mongolian ambassador and foreign minister visited Mar-a-Lago.
an investigation by ProPublica released Wednesday found that Trump Jr., an avid big-game hunter, received special treatment from the Mongolian government. According to the report, permits to hunt argali sheep are controlled by “an opaque permitting system that experts say is mostly based on money, connections and politics.”
Trump Jr. received the permit on Sept. 2, after he left the region following the hunt, according to ProPublica?s report. Trump Jr. also met with Mongolia’s president, Khaltmaagiin Battuiga, before the leaving the country, according to the report.
A photo posted to Instagram on April 20 by the River School of Government in Tampa shows Mongolian Ambassador Yondon Otgonbayar and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsgot Damdin with school leaders in the bar at Mar-a-Lago near the famous portrait of Trump in tennis togs.

+1. That’s the sad legacy of the Trump era. I guess I was naive. Before this, I had always assumed that the vast majority of Americans were decent people. I might disagree with someone on almost everything, but that their intentions were good. They were doing the best they could— just like me.
Boy was I wrong. There are a lot of disgusting, evil, nasty deplorable people out there. People who enjoy hurting other people. I am realizing that — like Hitler— Trump has highlighted ugliness that was there all along. Those feelings were always there, but people knew they had to hide it. Trump validated the worst people in this country and helped them find each other. And made hurting other people a positive attribute.
