Who is lauding him here as a hero? Yes, he is a victim of drugs and mental illness, that he had a private jet does not negate that. He was after all just a kid still, at 21, and sadly had access to too much money for his own good.

If you feel sorry for him because you think he's some sort of poor victim, consider:

-his private jet was searched upon landing, and police located in his luggage: 3 loaded handguns, armor-piercing bullets, 4 bottles of codeine-cough syrup, and 71 pounds of high power marijuana (personal use?).

To our vulnerable teens, he promoted and glamorized drug abuse; even his rapper name was teen-drug-inspired. I do not see him as the hero some of you seem to think he was.

To many kids, he was a role model. read the lyrics posted above. he's messed up and kids are listening to this crap. The guy had many demons and he is being glamorized.


Its one thing to struggle with addiction; many artists do.

Juice Wrld promoted his abuse; even named himself after his favorite teen drug, thereby glamorizing it to all the kids who looked up to him. And you wonder why the US has an opiod crisis?? (gee thanks, Juice ).

He openly struggled with mental illness, he tried to get clean, he was self-aware and asked important questions about the way we prescribe powerful drugs to kids from very young ages. Maybe suspend your judgment a bit. If you have teenagers, I guarantee they or their peers are affected by this.

I had to set aside my judgment to lean about Juice WRLD because I wanted to understand my teenagers’ feelings. Yes, he wrote songs about drugs and depression. He expressed vulnerability in a culture that doesn’t allow young men, especially young black men, to do that. Many teens and young people are really feeling this loss.

He obviously had some untreated mental illness. My son listens to a bunch of rap and I hate all of it, but for some reasons, Juice WRLD's songs appeal to me. I find myself truly sad at his premature death.

Kids aren't stupid. They see what happens to the folks who dabble in drugs. Unfortunately there are far too many examples of what can happen to a person when they get involved with substance abuse.

Every time one of these idiots dies by a drug overdose I pound it into my kids heads. 90% of young famous deaths are drug related. Never heard of this guy but 70 lbs of weed, multiple assault weapons and he horsed down enough Percocet to kill himself almost immediately...sounds like a drug dealer to me.
