For this particular thread I can see how parents who rely on "preschool" for childcare (AKA daycare) might have a different perspective on attending conferences without their kids since they are presumably relying on the "preschool" to provide childcare.

How does this matter? If the parent is a SAP and the SAP is in the conference who is watching the child? Whether child is in a part-time preschool or a child care center if there isn't a nanny and there's no other available adult in the family then presumably they have to hire a babysitter, right?
