Stop trashing it. We had a wonderful in home daycare provider who still babysits for us years later. Just because you and OP had a bad experience doesn't mean they're all bad.

Is the assistant lead qualified and in ratio? If so, it wouldn't be a compliance issue right? Just poor communication?

^^^^^ This 100%. There are ratios of careprovider to student they must maintain. It is in the COMAR regulations and can be found online if you're interested.

And she hasn't communicated anything to the parents or the assistants?

Start looking for a new provider.
