I've known a Mairen and two Mairins. Have never known a Marin, so I'd lean toward the first spellings. All pronounced MAIR-in.

I know many Mairins both here and one in Ireland- all pronouce if Maren, rhymes with Karen.

I like it a lot, and I pronounce it like Karen.

A German coworker of mine is named Maren. I also know a little girl named Marin (pronounced Mare-in). Both are lovely people so I only have positive thoughts about the name, regardless of how’s it’s spelled.

Really like this name. Was top of our girl list but now a few good friends have used something too similar (like Mary) so we probably won’t use it. Don’t think this is a “trying too hard” name at all. I can think of number of older and younger women alike who have this name. I think it sounds strong and beautiful.

Maren is a nice name. It’s a Scandinavian girl’s name.
