I still don't believe there is anyone who voted for Hillary who is considering Trump. Let's try another whopper!

Sheesh. But tell me again how you look at a large field of qualified candidates and think no, trump's my guy? I mean, he's your guy if you need to shake down someone or get your buddy Rick Perry to score you some big contracts but come on...
I’m not the OP, but I am voting for Trump.
I don’t look at it and think ‘he’s my guy’. I do think that I am voting based on what matters to me. And, currently, Trump has my vote.

OP, this is me also.
Have voted Democrat in ALL the last presidential elections.
Agree that the Democrats have gone so far off the rails, and that I absolutely do not feel that they care about or want my vote.
I am actually going to be voting for Trump in the next election. I don’t like him as a person, but I can say that about many people I work with.
It is what it is.
Pick what issues matter most to you and vote based on those. Agree that you will not align completely with any candidate.
Such a predictable script.
Indeed. Anyone who would think that Trump would be a better pick for the country after what he has pulled is either brain-dead or completely amoral. Period. End of discussion.

As soon as someone complains about the Democrats moving to the left, I know this person is either really young or really new to politics.
Go look at where Republicans stood from the 50s to the 70s.
Yup. It's called being a thinking independent. Party loyalty is ridiculous. Vote for the best person, but that means you gotta do your homework -- something many won't do.Anonymous wrote:You aren't getting engaged. The shocking truth is that most people in this country agree on most things.
For example: no wants there to be more abortions. No one wants illegal immigration.
Rs want to stop funding anything having to do with abortion (defunding planned parenthood), Ds want to stop the cause of elective abortions, which means sex education, free/low cost birth control, and poverty. (Rs block those things.)
Rs want fewer immigrants, Ds are okay with more immigrants. No wants illegal immigration.
Most people have a huge amount in common as far as the end goals. The parties have taken different approaches to achieve those goals.
You aren't getting married to a candidate. One candidate may be your person this year and then in the next election you think, hmmm, I like this other person better. That is okay.
You don't have to register as a member of a party. You can choose based on what they say.

I like her! I like Warren, Sanders, Harris and Klobuchar. What I have seen of Castro I like too.
We have a strong field with smart people.

Lol, no. I don't believe you. There is literally no person like this. Try again.
Actually FEWER people support Trump now than ever. And certainly no democrat who voted for Hillary is going to vote for Trump now.
Nice try. HA HA HA HA HA HA
Well, you have now met one. DH is still on the fence, but is considering voting for Trump. Or possibly 3rd party. He also voted for Hillary last time and watching the debates realized that he can’t vote for many of the potential Democratic candidates.

Other than Bernie and Warren, are the rest of the Dem candidates too far left? To me, I would rather have a democracy than a Trump Autocracy, so will do everything in my power to work against Trump in 2020. That said, whoever the next president is going to spend significant time and effort rebuilding our institutions, particularly State, Ag, Interior, EPA where this administration has been gutting the agencies. There really won't be a lot of bandwidth to implement any far-out agenda items, particularly with a GOP senate.
