A knife can be anything from an actual blade, to a butter knife, to a plastic one.

Sad that this made the news/public eye. The kid is obviously super troubled.

See the excellent Post expose on the DC "youth rehabilitation act". gun charges are routinely pled down and disappear. Meanwhile, citizens jump through a million hoops to 'prove' their merit to own a legal handgun. I have zero issue with this, unless you choose to IGNORE illegal handguns and actual gun crime. Sometimes DC is so ass backwards.

Actually he threatened a female classmate after a fight over a pencil. Seriously?! In 6th grade? Over a PENCIL?!


That school needs to be shut down. It's not serving the kids with that kind of violent culture. These are the same kids that fight at NOMA all the time and stabbed a fellow student last year.


KEY Academy isn't anywhere near NoMa - it's on Benning Road in SE - and this incident aside - considerably safer than nearby schools. Get a life.


and scores higher on the PARCC than schools with similar demographics.
