He was letting them complete the crime and collecting evidence along the way. This was deliberate and smart. He gave them the rope to hang themselves. He probably knew when he took the job exactly what they were up to and decided to play the long game.

They probably assumed he would go along with the plans.

Rep Ratcliffe of the padded resume, who was quickly dumped as the DNI nominee? That Ratcliffe?

Oh, yeah, I'm sure it was "crushing"?

He probably brought out that much of what Taylor knows is secondhand information, and contradicts Gordon Sondland.

Sondland needs to decide if he's going to come clean, or if he's going to continue to prop up Trump.

I bet John Bolton could clear a lot of this up.

William Taylor's cables often made pretty damn good reading(certainly for State Dept cables). In one, he vividly exposes the ties between Russian mobster Mogilevich and Firtash, now Giuliani's benefactor. This is the door to Trump ties to Russian Mafia.

(Note Firtash is now being represented by Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGeonova. Toensing's son is working in the DOJ)

I am quite impressed at how much credible information Bill Taylor was able to give.

His opening statement is extremely compelling and constitutes a nearly day by day account of the quid pro quo.

While I agree with you I still question his integrity. So, if the whistle blower hadn’t come forward he (and others) would have just taken this crap to the grave? I’m tired of calling folks like this guy patriots, when what happened was he saw/participated in corruption & then just tried to whistle past the graveyard. Thank you, next.

Knowing that Barr tried to squash this, too, and without his testimony, how do we know he didn’t bring this to someone?

Look at the timing of the calls and the release of funds.

And the start of the impeachment inquiry.

He probably IS the whistleblower.

This is unfair. He did raise questions within his role. It was shut down. Given the opportunity he's stepped forward. Rather than focus on the negative, why not look at the positive? He's done more than most people in this administration -- he's done a heck of a lot more than the GOP. In the scheme of things, this is all pretty recent and who's to say he wouldn't have come forward?

The bigger question: why hasn't Bolton come forward? Personally I wonder if he's the whistleblower.

Rep. Peter Welch says tonight that, after Bill Taylor’s deposition, Gordon Sondland is in danger of perjury charges over his testimony to Congress.

Anonymous wrote:The Taylor statement is damning. Trump is so venal. He was utterly unprepared to be president of the most powerful country on earth and that incompetence and incessant narcissistic self-interest has now led to the death and suffering of thousands of innocent people. Amb. Taylor's statement eloquently makes it abundantly clear that Trump has no concept of national security and long-term US political interests.

And YES, Trump was willing to kill Ukraine’s by withheld funds until he got what he wanted.
Taylor opening statement, page 8, last para.

I hope those who were lead astray see that Trump uses his divisive language to distract from his corruption and callousness. Don’t think for a minute he wouldn’t do this to you, your family, your community if he thought he could make a buck or grift more.
