BRYC, McLean and/or Loudoun
as PP said above. If your DD isn’t top 3 girls in her team then it’s a small chance
Not Loudoun. Most of the red team has been promoted to the ECNL team in the past. The others may be different.
"...in the past....." funny. Loudoun has only had ECNL for what, two years now? Hardly a track record to draw conclusions from. If the girl is good enough to make the team, they will. I can't imagine any DA/ECNL club would turn away a talent that was worthy of a spot. If the "new girl" is about the same as some of the existing lower team players from the club, I could imagine they'd promote from within versus take external, but who knows.....
It’s a fact. Did it change with the 2007s? Please share your wisdom, oh great one.
PS, it was the same way in making their top teams previously. They are insular. They do have a strange obsession with trying to pry away FCV players, though, which usually doesn’t work out too well for them.
The 2007s did add from outside the club. They evaluated a number of girls and gave offers to at least one (who joined). And you've got the whole FCV-> Loudoun thing backwards.....FCV is (and has always since they had ECNL previously....) always looking to add Loudoun kids.
The fact is that the Loudoun ECNL teams are predominantly just the former red teams, renamed. The point was not to say Loudoun won't accept outsiders, just that the odds are stacked in the favor of the current red team players at the u12 level.
The fact also is that the TD has an obsession with wrestling FCV girls away to Loudoun. If you are at Loudoun and don't know this, I'm shocked; you need to pay much more attention. Unless you already know and are trying to throw those who don't off the scent.
Wait didn't FCV 07 DA just add 2 Loudoun players this year? One from the Red team and one from Black.
It goes both ways. Are you saying that Loudoun doesn't try to poach FCV players? Like the u14 who is there who was with FCV DA last year?
Neutral party here. Just read this. I know the 2 kids that played with FCV as PT players last year but decided on their own to move to Loudoun with zero influence from the Loudoun TD. They were fed up with FCV, so despite being offerered spots, decided to leave. They also knew and liked the new assistant Loudoun coach from their ODFC days. Also, the leading scorers for FCV’s DA 06 and 05 teams all came from (younger years) either Loudoun, ODFC, or Houston, TX. I know them all. Get over your freaking high horse FCV people. You don’t grow s*$t. You recruit well and you have the DA program. There is nothing more than that. If Loudoun had the DA program they’d have all the girls on the FCV teams and be just as good. So what FCV does do better than Loudoun is know how to play the political soccer game, hence they got DA which is perceived as a more elite program, and even better they sold out to TSJ. Kudos to CZ for being business savvy, but let’s not kid ourselves on who recruits more. FCV takes the cake, and there really is nothing wrong with that, just don’t be hypocritical.

The prior poster was referring to the U14 team, or 2006 girls. They DO need a major overhaul! Don’t have a dedicated goalie and are in last place in ECNL for 2 years running...
Agreed on this team. They only have 4 girls on that team ECNL worthy.[/b] If they don't fix that problem they will be leaving in a year or 2
Sounds like they just need to get a decent goalie?

Not sure about MD-I think Bethesda’s second team (formerly Bethesda Blue) now is the ECNL 2 team just behind ECNL 1 and they travel and play the same clubs each week as ECNL 1 (just the second teams obviously). I think they used to be in CCL 1 before the switch, at least in Bethesda.

For MoCo -- Yes.
There are still girls in the county who play for MDUnited ECNL, which is actually better overall. Bethesda 05 ECNL is the only serious squad at the club. The rest are blah, which is why the club brought over the Rush coach to show them how to play at an elite level. Before he arrived with his 05 tram, Bethesda was just full of parents and kids chasing a brand with zero substance.
I saw the u12 team is traveling 3-4 hours one way for league games. How is that going over?
I don’t know if my U12DD will make this team next year but this driving distance is very intimidating.
U12 team or the U13 team? ECNL doesn't start until u13?
She’s U12 now and will be U13 next year (Fall 2020).
Prior poster said the U12 team is traveling 3-4 hours for a league game. I'm curious what league the U12 team is in that has that much travel?
