To be The Best Parent you have to provide the most. It's all about being seen and recognized as doing more. Oh, and then getting to complain that, "some of us, do it all" It's like having the bigger minivan. The family with the bigger minivan - or, the family who sets up the canopy, is the family who cares the most, they are the best family.

The correct term is Equipment Manager. (As it for my team, I always bring two canopies, the team bag, and the team bench to each game.)

As any fool should know, the term Canopy Mom is derogatory and Canopy Mom reacted appropriately to this slur.


(This has got to be one of the stupidest threads on DCUM in a while, and that is saying something.)

Maybe the OP wanted to indicate that there are ahole parents at every level.


Or that she's experienced in the travel soccer world having done it for years and years to get her DC to that level.

Clearly she did not handle it appropriately but maybe she was having a bad day. Your husband could have offered to carry hers back to her car as well. Anyway I would just brush it off and be cordial the next time you see her.
