We used to step stool instead of a learning tower since we have a pretty small house with a small kitchen and it's worked out just fine. Now that my kid is for she can pull the stepstool out herself which I guess is both wonderful and terrible depending on what she's trying to do with it.

Another vote for the Rody. That gets a lot of love in my house. Also the Playskool Sit N Spin. It’s not expensive but it has been used consistently by my almost four year old for the past two years.

We have twins (6 years old now) but I also vote for the kitchen. They play with its lot, even now. They liked their water table too and they also played a lot with the indoor tent. Just make sure to get one that folds away!

Where do you live? Aside from some rain and unbearable heat in the summer, DC is quite temperate most of the time.

We have this learning tower that folds into a desk, so it basically serves the purpose of table and chairs and learning tower. We’ve gotten a ton of use out of it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/294919169/helper-tower-table-chair-all-in-one?ref=yr_purchases

That said, I would ask for a play kitchen. Both DS and DD play with ours a ton

Play kitchen is a must, agreed. Balance bike a micro scooter also I think are musts. Sand box and water table with plenty of buckets and scoops. I think a really good block set is one of our most used indoor toys(Bekka blocks)

I have two boys, 4 and 18 months (at home, no daycare but 4 is in preschool)

Throw in some balls, a couple cars and dress up stuff, good crayons and water colors and that’s all they really love, everything else could be thrown out tomorrow and they wouldn’t care.


Same poster - holy crap I just read about the nugget and I need it now, thanks to this thread. My couch is disassembled daily to be a fort/animal cave/spaceship and I basically go insane but tolerate it because it’s deep imaginative play. Going to rearrange and buy the nugget, like today.


If you have the money, seriously take the small discount and get TWO. Our kids fight over the pieces and we're seriously thinking about getting another one later...

Omg thank you for also highlighting this brilliant addition from the one poster. I think i'm going to ditch my idea to get a table and chairs for christmas and instead get this since we have the stokke chairs as well and can just make the kitchen table our place for that. Sometimes dcum really pulls through!
