Paper towels if you need them. Kirkland laundry detergent. Wine and liquor. Nasal saline (fsa covered now). Cinnamon sticks if you like to simmer it for fragrance. Otherwise it will last for decades. Liquid Dish washing soap should last a year if your mainly using your dishwasher. Also dishwasher detergent.

But really just go for the samples.

I love costco, but people should do some comparison shopping. I am amazed at the similar savings Aldi's offers but in smaller sizes. Also, the dollar stores now seem to have incredible selection and and are obviously cheap as hell. I buy all my party supplies there.

Plants in spring, kiwi fruit, plums, mozzarella, hearts of palm, and sometimes underwear.

Asparagus if your family eats it a lot

Pears during the fall and winter are awesome. Its 6lbs of pears for like $6-8 and we all have a pear a day/eoday for a week

Jones chicken sausage- big bag
Eggs
Natures Bakery Fig Bars
Vanilla
Almond flour
Honey

Once one of the kids passes the dairy ladder and we can all eat dairy again we will probably get 90% of our stuff at Costco. Right now its only 65-75%.

And we only fill up gas at Costco with the executive membership and credit card we get 4% on the first 7k. We will probably spend 5-7k on gas with our two cars this year so minimum 200 cash back which above the cost of the membership ($120 for executive)

One thing we've done- buy the frozen costco brand pizzas. Cut them into 5, and freeze each 1/4 in a gallon ziploc baggie. saves TON of freezer space, and my 2 toddlers and i can happily split 1/4 for dinner with some fruits or veggies.

We save a lot of money shopping there and except for the fresh spinach never have trouble getting through even the produce we buy there and overall have found the produce to be very high quality.

Some of the biggest savings that I've spotted are on cheeses, nuts and frozen pastas but the $1.25 we save per gallon of milk is enough to pay for our membership.

But you do have to be careful on the snack foods as a lot of it is junk and the quantities are so big - the big bags of chips, large boxes of granola bars, bins of pretzels and animal crackers, doubled up gallons of juice etc.

We never buy such quantities or even the products themselves at the regular grocery store because they were frivolous and pricey (and we are usually on foot too) but used to load up at Costco but now we just steer clear of that stuff entirely because it was leading to a lot of bad eating habits in our house.

I only go once a month because I have a produce delivery every Friday.

I found this true in the beginning as I got tempted by too much, but now it costs us far less than we used to spend. We spent 600 mo at Costco for 90 percent of our groceries+ gas for family of 4 and a dog. And that includes occsaional odds and ends like allergy meds and socks and sheets.

Joining Costco will make you spend more money, not less. You end up using more than you normally would and buying more than you normally would. I still love Costco even though they take all my money.

We do our weekly grocery shopping at Costco. Backfill as needed at grocery store for specific items/sale items, but otherwise done and done.

+1 we buy everything at Costco, go every week and only refill what is needed. We used to go every two weeks but always ran out of stuffs mid week.
