No way it can possibly fit. I have a girl slightly shorter and it doesn’t fit. It’s not safe for you to insist on a 5 pt harness long after it’s outgrown its use. Your child is ready for a backless booster or at least a high back booster.

Switched from high-back to backless at 9.5. Very small 4th grader.

My almost 8 year old switched this summer. We checked the fit of the belt and he was fine without the shoulder strap guide and he was starting to get too tall for his head wings.

He fits perfectly in the captian’s chair without a booster. We haven’t made the switch yet because legally, he needs to be in a booster until he is 8.

Summer after first grade when the seatbelt kept jamming on the stupid Britex Frontier and the only way to fix it was to uninstall, fix belt and reinstall.

I have a 40 pound 4yo who just switched to a high back booster with seatbelt. My 6.5yo (48 pounds) is in a backless booster in one car and high back in the other car. Highbacks are great for falling asleep in the car on long drives.
