Amen.

I can tell you right now that as a coach for a club, I don't really see parents as customers at all. I don't make any commission off of how many kids join the club etc. I'd say most coaches hold this opinion.

Sad, but so, so true.

If you are lucky you discover this early. Then it becomes much easier to sit back and let the madness happen around you without getting drawn into it.

Find smaller games to get that training. Not big matches.

I was the AR in a WAGS tournament game that featured a big-time girls team whose parents were some of those most ignorant people I'd ever met. To give one example -- the ball hit the corner flag and stayed in play, and one parent clapped and said, "All right, we get a corner kick." No, dude, you don't.

The center ref had just finished a distinguished playing career that included call-ups to youth national teams. It's safe to say she knew the game 100 times better than the parents. But the parents kept whining.

I heard one of them say, "And it's such an important game, too!"

I thought to myself, "It can't be that important if they assigned me to it."

Why would anyone hunt for information of this sort? Information that has no purpose but to spread negativity, rumors, and subjective vitriol?

You might wanna start a thread asking who the biggest threats are to allowing this forum to remain informative and relevant. At some point, people stop coming back to the forum because they begin to feel that it's less about soccer and more about people with too much time on their hands who enjoy starting shit-storms when there's not enough going on at the office.

^^^ this guy is the biggest hack.

That is u12 only and those are not DA teams no matter what Arlington calls them. U13 is the first boys DA year and over half that team is from outside Arlington. So no, the DA teams are not simply the previous Arlington Red team. And none of this stuff about two DA
Teams appears true for any year other than U12. Let’s see how many of the U12 “DA” players are on the U13 DA next year.

So Arlington at U-12 has
Da1
Da2
Red
White
Blue

Did they kill the remaining teams or they still have them?

How many of DA1 or DA 2 came from the old red or white team?

This is completely wrong.
Boys have one DA team for U12. Girls at U12 do not have DA. It is right there on the website: http://arlingtonsoccer.com/programs/travel/coaching-staff

They don't have any DA teams for U12 as there is no U12 DA. The EDP schedule shows 2 U12 Pre-DA teams, both of which played yesterday. https://www.edpsoccer.com/page/show/4792680-2019-fall-schedules They are either coaching the entire group as one team then splitting them for games (as DA did last year in my kids club), or coaching separately. Either way, same effect - 2 Pre-DA teams.

Yep. This year’s red team is essentially the blue team (3rd team) in u12.
