I always wonder about these guys who date single moms, and one of my friends (guy) married one. It turns out that he has a savior complex about being a 'good guy' and wanting to fulfil some father figure role. It's weird to see him get mixed up in his stepkids' problems whether it's money or romantic relationships. Like dude, why do you do this to yourself?

Hush on that. It is not the issue. I have three rambunctious boys (seriously, I might as well have 8 kids for as much energy as they have) and have absolutely no problems dating. I once asked my long term boyfriend why he didn’t run screaming when I told him (I always tell guys right away), and he said he knew what he was getting into. Four kids later she finally realized he was loser? Teases out awful judgment. Tell her to raise the kids and stop worrying about dating. She made her bed. Does she want to screw up 4 kids parading a bunch of random men through the house?

I don't agree that a mom with 4 kids can't date. If it's a priority she can. But I am laughing at the idea that your kids turn 12 and stop being so time consuming.
I had two kids and DH still married me. My 13 year old was more self-sufficient at 10 than her biological dad is at 50. She likes to cook so a few times a month, she walks to the grocery store with alist and can get dinner on the table in two hours. I would absolutely be able to leave her for 3-4 hours a couple nights a week if I needed to.
