The Ned is really pretty on the inside. It’s fun! I think the membership is fairly varied.

What about the Met Club?

DP but I have been to the Met Club and it is something else. I can't believe it still exists. I saw Tucker Carlson there when I went for lunch with a member. A black woman attended the lunch with me and was very uncomfortable.

lol. Tucker was in there yesterday for breakfast.

Tucker told Steve Bannon he (or he, as in he and the people he was with at his table?) were literally the only persons in there for breakfast. And that he knew them all by name because he was such a frequent guest (...with his brother and late dad?). How does a private club have an entire staff and chef for a random weekday breakfast if there's only one table occupied?

I don’t believe Tucker is a guest there.

He detailed his visit and routine on his and Steve Bannon's Monday podcast episodes. I don't think it's something you'd lie about on a podcast with millions of listeners.

The podcast said he had breakfast alone at the club. My understanding of how these clubs operate is that he’s likely a member. But perhaps I’m misunderstanding something - or maybe he is a guest via reciprocity? No idea.

He is a member. Used to be at the MC all the time. A lot less since he moved to Florida. Am surprised to hear there was no one there the other day. There is usually a good crowd at breakfast but things do slow down over the summer.

How do these work? I've spoken at a few events at the Cosmos Club, and found it super outdated and a bit grimey. How does this work for members? Like a country club restaurant?

This is ridiculous. The University Club is hardly "new money douche." The people that I know who are members (and I've considered it myself), are folks who want a consistent place to go that offers several dining rooms and workout facilities. I considered it b/c it was convenient.

The Cosmos Club is old! The building is kind of a dump.

its a beautiful building inside and out. recently renovated dining room too.

The Cosmos Club is for people with brains, the Met Club is for people with money and the University Club is for people with neither.

I went to Cosmos Club a few weeks ago. Lots of professors go there. My lunch was great. There were many old people there. Very old school.

One of the smartest people I know is a member at Cosmos and I've had lunch with him there a few times. He's been in the news lately.

I'd never heard of some of the others mentioned. I live in what is considered a desired suburb and don't know anyone who belongs to places like these. I am surprised they still exist.

For real? Where are you from? Where else have you lived? Did you ever see Trading Places?
