Sure, the original question is why a c-section it's better, but the OP has answered she is opting for a VBAC by choice. The input PP above is providing is indeed relevant information.

It is not a shitty thing to post. OP SPECIFICALLY ASKED "TELL ME WHY A C SECTION IS BETTER" In my experience and opinion it is not. I'm not going to lie to OP. I was honest and truthful in sharing my experience which in a nutshell is that my c section wasn't better but I did get extra short term disability pay, which can be considered a plus.

Most people either have c sections OR vaginal births however I happen to have experience with both. As such I felt both qualified to speak on the subject as well as moved to share my experience with OP.

I had a VBAC for #2 at GW with a 10 lb baby and it was amazing. So natural and easy. I did get an epidural to help manage pain. I also tore but they stitched me up nicely. Vaginal left me with permanent pelvic floor injuries. Not a pleasant way to live. Need corrective surgery but am afraid.

I don't know if the vagina thing is true. Sex is definitely NOT the same and I had a CS.

My first was an emergency c and my kid was in the NICU so I can’t speak to a lot of the other perks mentioned here but I do agree that highlights included:

You don't need a reason for a c section, or any guilt. I had a "maternal choice" c section for my first (only) because labor sounds like a nightmare, and I was 34 with a well positioned baby. Delivery went great and no my kid doesn't have asthma or allergies. I don't understand VBAC people at all -- it's risky and you already have stitches in your uterus so I don't see why you want them in your vulva too. If you were into VBAC I wouldn't opine but since you said you don't want one ... don't have one!

It's not so black-and-white. VBAC is often recommended for women who want more than two kids because the risks to your next pregnancy multiply with each c/s. Hysterectomy rates are higher with c/s, and the scar rupture rate is about the same with attempted VBAC and c/s (most ruptures are not catastrophic). However, statistically the risks to the baby are higher with attempted VBAC (absolute risk rates are low). And statistically more attempted VBACs fail. It's so important to have a provider who is very supportive, uses induction/augmentation sparingly (since that increases risk of failure) and will give you plenty of time to labor (many providers will give less time with a VBAC labor even if the labor is going fine and progressing). C/s is definitely a good choice for anyone who has extreme doubts about VBAC, or their provider doesn't fully support it, or you are not a good candidate based on your history.

I can't imagine what's "amazing" about having major surgery. Most people would choose not to do so. I wouldn't classify my vaginal birth as "amazing" but I was up and walking around the day after birth and I didn't have to stay in the hospital for 4 days to recover from surgery.

My c section was a little after midnight. By the end of the day, I was up walking and no meds. I was also discharged 48 hours after my c section due to my progress. Please don’t speak for moms who have had c sections if you haven’t experienced it for yourself. Every story is different.

Your vagina stays the same!! Lol. I know some moms who said, sex was never the same. I had a c section and will with this baby as well. First was emergency. Although we knew I would have a c section, she came before her due date/ the planned c section. I was given the option to do VBAC but to hell with that. Labor pains are a b**** and I am honestly scared of 3 degree tears. Oh, and possibly be in labor for 30+ hours for them to say I need a c section.

Every c section recovery story is different. I bounced back quickly and was even discharged in 48 hours because I was up walking, no meds, passed gas and the breathing test etc. I would say within a little over a week, I was getting in and out the car with no problems. The quicker you get up and moving, the faster you heal but obviously, don’t push too hard and risk hurting yourself. My incision held well and is hardly noticeable.

I was up and walking around the day after my emergency cs.

Bully for you. It's not true of many other women who had CS. It's major surgery.
