If it's money you're worried about, if he has it now, have him put the money in a trust for your kids with you as the trustee and him with no control over it. That money is your kids' until they turn 25 or 30 or whatever. I'm not a lawyer or a financial planner, for all I know this is a stupid idea that won't work, but an idea.

Do you think if you have a second child, your DH will forget about your firstborn because there’s a brand new baby that’s younger and cuter?
