So when do you believe the STJ FCV DA will move practices to the St James?
A. Sometime this Fall/Spring Season
B. Next year
C. The year after
D. Never
Don't know as only the fall is published, not this fall.
Will probably use STJ over the winter as they have a full size field.
So next spring is earliest. I believe it will end up be dependent upon team in the long run.
This sounds like a reasonble idea but in the long run it will not fly because coaches coach multiple teams. The idea that player composition will determine practice location will not really be a determining factor.
But MOST parents of players at this level don't care from discussions I've had.
This totally depends on age. If kids are older and driving, sure. But it is also dependent upon where people really live and what time practices are. While carpools can lesson the burden on parents they do little to get kids back home before 10:00pm on school nights. Homework will suffer and if parents think kids will do it in the car, in a carpool, good luck with that.
Parents do care about these things and keeping an open mind and seeing how things work out is fair but for many of the Loudoun based families who have never had a longer soccer practice commute longer that 20 minutes TSJ will be unpleasant. But I know such things are inconsequential to you. You don't balk at a new kit every year so what is a extra $70 a week on tolls for soccer practice?

Not what I'm hearing. Schedule will be out late this month, but teams have many open weekends now that will get filled with Cup games. The Showcases are on top of those. But we'll all know for certain in 3-4 weeks.

I don't know either, but one week is likely just a bye week and most group stages are usually 3 games to eliminate ties.
So based on that, I doubt 5 games and 4 games could cause ties. So based on all of that, I'll spitball 3 qualifying games.
I just re-read the website...says Tier 1, which FCV will be, are groups of 4, so 3 games which determines seeding for winter showcase.
The primary Winter Showcase Group Stage will consist of eight groups of four teams. The secondary Winter Showcase teams will also compete in a group stage format. All teams will play three games, one against each team in their group. The eight group winners from each age group's primary Winter Showcase Group Stage will be seeded in the championship bracket in the Spring Showcase Knockout Stage.
Games during the Spring Showcase Knockout Stage will take place on a team schedule, meaning different age groups from the same club will play different schedules.
So the schedules beyond the Fall are unknown. If the teams do well, they could travel more in for the knockout stage.

Wow, so we have some posters saying you have to play in games and be top 5 to get recruited, now a poster that says additional playing time is for money.
Bottom line are the top teams playing other top teams for better competition = better trained, ready athletes for the next level.
There are easily 2 tiers of quality, same as you'll find in ECNL.
I like the idea. Hopefully not too much more travel...that gets expensive.
And now we have a poster who can not read. Please point out where someone said "additional playing time for money"
You people are too old to be spoon feed every bit of information.
USSDA is introducing a two tier system. You will get the good, bad, and ugly that comes with a 2 tier youth nationally league system.

This just seems like a clean way to introduce a two tier system, and acknowledge that most clubs in GDA are not remotely competitive compared to the top clubs. That is important to USSF if the goal is to stop the continued defection of top clubs to ECNL.

Umm, they always said more meaningful games. Games that have something on the line are more competitive and meaningful.
