Arlington is a suburb in VA.

You don't see these massive body-on-frame SUVs in DC proper unless they're being driven by an Uber Black SUV drivers.


So all those gigantic Suburbans and Yukons in school pickup lines, summer swim, and weekend sports tournaments are Uber drivers not moms and dads?


This is such a silly argument. When I say parents in DC I actually mean parents in the District of Columbia. I'm sure there are plenty of moms in Potomac, Sterling, Gaithersburg et al who drive giant Expedition/Yukon/Suburbans to their kids swim team meets in "North Bethesda" or soccer tournaments in rural VA or MD.

My kids go to a Catholic private in DC and play sports. The number of parents I know living in the city (even upper NW) who drive those vehicles are zero. GLs, MLs, Tesla, Range Rovers, Highlanders, Priuses, RX350s (i.e. normal-sized cars or crossovers) are common. Perhaps there are parents who live in the city and drive those cars but in my 15 years of living in DC proper I have not seen or met any. Your experience in whatever city you live in might be different.

I was at a For dealership getting tires rotated and big Ford pickup trucks parked in front of the building had listed prices of $74,999


If you put all the options in some of the limited edition half tons you are looking at around the 100k mark with taxes and fees by the time you get off the lot.

It is pretentious for people who are into truck and it is weird for granola crunchiness in the DMV. People who drive trucks look down on poppy cocks who get extended fancy cabin and lame cargo in a space, they think them trucks for show for rich people(which your DH is?).
