No one does that. Aren’t you reading?

Yep, my kid would get hungry around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and ask me, loudly, in public "Are we having lunch today?" I learned that if I just said "We already had lunch." strangers would glare at me like I was some kind of liar who clearly didn't feed her kid, so I started saying "Remember about two hours ago when I gave you that grilled cheese sandwich, with soup, apple slices and baby carrots? That was lunch. If you're hungry now we could have a snack, would you like a snack?"

Agree. To the OP, quit judging.

This is funny! And I probably did this as a kid.
My 2.5 year old asks for a snack at every play date. I think she just likes the novelty of eating at someone else's house. Same reason she likes to use their potty.

Anonymous wrote:Why do you do this? Playdate at 2pm, kid shows up and hasn't eaten lunch yet. We ate at 12:30. This has happened with 2 friends recently. NOT a situation where the kids are neglected or can't afford food. I have to make a special lunch for the kid and then my kids watch him eat. Rude for the parents to do this and uncomfortable for everyone.
