OP here. I doubt it but you never know. This would make it less likely, right? She's not originally from FL. She doesn't have tons of tattoos or purple hair or baby alligators in her yoga pants. The baby alligator in yoga pants lady was recent news in south FL. On a play date recently I saw a gun in this ladies closet. She opened it casually to get something out. The gun was not concealed. We have small children. I also know of 2 people who keeps cobra snakes as pets.
OP here. I know someone is going to call me a troll because it's illegal to keep cobras but I swear one of my sons friends has one. They told me they keep it a secret. Our playdates are always at my house now that I have discovered this fascinating news.
Cobras are bad, of course, but I leaned—to my sorrow—that our overnight doula was a former member of the Cobra Kai. Her body was literally a deadly weapon. No thank you. We fired her and got some hippie type.

I never even thought to ask—but one day saw that my housekeeper was like totally strapped. I mean, the full Death Wish package. I guess she lives in a rough part of town. Now, I’d ask.

OP here. She's actually not going to be doing heavy cleaning. She will be cooking and clean up afterwards. She will also help with laundry and vacuuming. I am on bed rest right now. She's also going to be babysitting our 2 year old.
I wouldn’t want my 2 yo to have access to a gun.
So if she brings it in a locked case, fine (but it’s a little weird), but if it’s on her body or in her purse, no.

Op, I do not think you should be willing to put yourself in a position where this type of concern even crosses your mind. Better idea: don't hire, perhaps don't hire anyone
