Right? Why do people seem to think there is such a high threshold for posting on DCUM?

The OP probably got the text, wanted to vent somewhere, and wrote a quick post on the same device. I am pretty sure she wasn't sitting at home stressing about it for days before deciding, finally, to post on DCUM for advice.

Op, it was good you took the stand you did. You just don't need to post it.

I am a SAHM and have a husband who can't commit to anything because of work hours are unpredictable. I only had 2 kids and just didn't let them do things that would require someone else helping. If I had 3 kids I would have had to have an au pair who drove, I guess, but we never had the space for an au pair so that was out.

I'm sorry, OP. Some people just are not good at planning. I spent a lot of time carpooling over the years and it was great. When people were having hard times (dying spouse, very ill parents, etc) the rest of us were happy to cover things to make it easier. That is what "it takes a village" means to me.

The multiple camp sign ins drive me nuts. Ha ha

If you are allowing yourself to be used, that is on you. If you keep allowing it and don’t speak up, that is on you.

Like a lot of people, I have been in many roles - SAHP, WOHP, WAHP - and I usually handle my responsibilities just fine. When I can’t, I ask for help. When others ask, I help when I can. If I can’t or don’t want to, I say no. Simple.
