I have a daughter named Ivy! She’s in elementary now. We’ve come across a few others but I don’t mind. I still adore her name today just like I did when I chose it.

I have only known one Ivy in my whole life! She was my sister's friend in college, which would now make her middle-aged. She was cool. I like the name (and that it was your grandma's.)

It was the name of my first cabbage patch kid, but I've never met one in real life. I really like the name, go for it!

I love it; only know a few, sprinkled from babyhood through middle school.

Who cares - if you like it then go for it. Honoring your grandmother trumps popularity in my opinion.

OP, I love this name! It was on my list if I'd had another girl. I say go for it.

In my experience so far, while we sometimes hear similar names, they are almost never repeated as ANY name was in the 50s or 70s or 90s. Everyone says "oh there's so many Sophias" but I have yet to meet one in my kid's school (120 preschoolers).

So even the popular names aren't THAT popular.
