I get that you want to say of course it doesn't mean anything. Because it doesn't have to. But, please, you know, the walking meeting, the tête-à-tête, the sitting on a bench outside sounds romantic, private, and simply much more conducive to intimate conversation than a meeting inside an office or meeting room.

Being outside where anyone could overhear your conversation is more private than being behind closed doors?

Lots of people have exercise bracelets and have to log so many thousands of steps per day according to their exercise plan. People are very busy and maybe don't want to stuff their faces with high calorie expensive food at lunch. Walking around the corporate campus makes perfect sense--it's an efficient way to multi task and try to stay fit.

Whenever I can, I have a walking meeting. I work in a very collaborative environment and no one thinks anything when they see people walking around together, going to get coffee or having lunch together. You're expected to interacted.

Same here. 14 years in the same job, and I've been the only woman on my team that entire time. Thank God I don't work with a bunch of Mike Pence's!

I also do walking meetings all the time, with men and women. Not having an affair and frankly it would be easier to have an affair in my office with the door closed than walking around the office.
