Ever see the movie or read the book, The Stoning of Soraya? Heartbreaking true story. I do think it is a beautiful name though, albut I would assume someone named Soraya would likely have Persian or Arab roots. I don't think that's a reason to keep you from using though if you really like it. It's beautiful.

LOVE Soraya! Reminds me of Miriah, which I also think is lovely, but Soraya sounds more elegant & unique now (since I get to hear Miriah all the time ; )
