I’m an NP and I agree. They can show favorites, and the seller can still get information from that (ie why does their house have fewer favorites than comps). Or they can offer a “seller dashboard” if you’ve verified that a property for sale is yours, to see all of that info. It’s like when Netflix got rid of their rating system because scores were too low.

If it’s any consolation OP, I never looked at Redfin on my computer until I was in the final stages of offer and wanted to see big pictures.

I never knew this was a feature. Like ever. And it wouldn't impact my opinion of a house either way if I had known and had looked for it.

The problem is not the process of x-outing a property so as to not see it highlighted , its the act of redfin publishing it on the website. who needs to know if you don't think the house fits. To me its REDFIN being rude.

I never even glanced at the X-outs when purchasing my homes. If it's still on the market, I assume there are people who aren't interested in it. All that matters to me is whether it's a good fit for me.

No. It's not rude. It's not personal. It's a tool solely for the buyer. When I look at Redfin and I see someone has x'ed out a house, my thought is "this house wasn't right for this person" not "this house is horrible and no one wants it." It's strictly a way for buyers to keep track.
