I am not that PP but could have written that post as we pretty much had the same setup when my kids were in HS. I loved when the kids had friends over when they lived here. Now I enjoy my peace. Not a big deal.
Not sure why it exhausts you. I have a full life and we aren’t talking every day. Usually one night a week (like a Saturday) not a big deal. Obviously, as a family and with our adult friends we are enjoying these things too!

Ok, so? The poster said nothing about how much time is spent on the screen.
My son plays travel sports in the summer, varsity in during the school year, is a member of ROTC, and just took his APs and so far has a 4.2 as a Junior, will be higher once the grades come in for Q4.
He also socializes, like all his other peers during his downtime via collaborative game play.

Did you not pay attention to when I posted? It was 8:39 pm on the west coast. How is he supposed to socialize with his friends in person after finishing his homework for the weekend on a Sunday night, if not on a google hangouts voice chat with his friends while playing a game?

How do you know my kid is spending too much time on a screen? The vast majority of his time is spent doing homework. He has only a tiny amount of free time. I think those studies are not super helpful now since most homework is online and submitted online. I would love some newer studies reflecting the way kids do homework and interact socially now. It is hard to apply outdated studies to parenting now because the technologies have changed so fast.

Seriously the dab pens are everywhere now. It really worries us when teen relatives come over and we're afraid they are partaking. Like what if someone passes out at the house or whatever.
You don’t pass out from weed, you might get sleepy but that’s different. It’s nearly impossible to OD on . Edibles are a concern though and kids are getting sick from them as ingesting too much. I don’t like either alcohol or pot anymore, but I can say from experience pot is a lot less dangerous especially for teens and Early 20s where there’s so much binge drinking, true passing out, alcohol poisoning, bad behavior.

Yup. Kids can easily use the dab pen in the bathroom without mom and dad knowing.
