What are you talking about, Soccer is the most figured out sport ever. Tell them parents anything and they will pay thousands.

LOL.

I once got a press release on behalf of a coach who had visa trouble. Can't blame the guy for wanting to stay here, but the subject line “How do we save U.S. Soccer?" was a bit much.

Other excerpts:

"With uber-talented coaches like (name and country redacted), struggling to get an O-1 Visa, but time is running out.”

The press release goes on to posit this coach as “that tiny bright light we need” who would be “bringing European soccer techniques to young US soccer players.”

Because, as we all know, absolutely no other soccer coach in the USA is from Europe or has studied European coaching.

That's pretty good!

Run these in eastern Fairfax / Arl. / Alex; western Fairfax/Loudoun; westDC/MoCo.; and east DC/PG.

My club—FPYC—already does this in the city of Fairfax! Come join. It's typically twice a week, all summer long. Open to all.

They don't have a pick up LEAGUE. They just have pick up...that like 10 kids show up to...unfortunately.

True...not a league. And yes, sometimes the numbers are great; other times, not so much.

My kids would love a "no coach, no parent" league where adults did nothing but arrange for the field and maybe a referee. No league table published.

Would be better to start as a 5-aside or a 7-aside league to let kids get more action / not take it too seriously.

Don't forget, Americans don't know anything about soccer, but because its the National sport of my country and I have experience in my country's system, you are better of with me.
My country's possession / individual style is better than the others....just look at our professional and national teams.

Parents own their share of the blame as well.
However, equal in the blame are the clubs and coaches who are looking to cash in.
They promise the moon, don't deliver, and can't figure out why people get upset with them.
