1) do you support a universal background check?
2) do you support stiff penalties for people who do not secure their guns properly? Such as in this tragedy.
Still waiting on these.

How are all these “mentally ill” people getting guns? Sounds like lax gun laws if we are allowing the mentally ill to buy them.

This is pretty much the gun control fanatics. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are when a nut shoots innocent people. It could be a terrorist - a mentally unstable person - a white supremacist - a left wing nut job - it doesn't matter. Their "go to" narrative is gun control. Enact more laws! Ban certain weapons! Limit ammunition!
My question is - aside from confiscating all guns - handguns, rifles, long guns - all of them - what could have been done to prevent these two crazy people from shooting at this school? What additional laws would have helped?
Since they reportedly broke into one of their parent's gun case and stole the guns - what should have been done to prevent this?

Because they must be demhumanized.

The “nuts” want unlimited, unrestricted gun ownership. Any reasonable control - universal background checks - are too much for them. They are not rational.
Then, there certainly are not many "nuts." Because as a 2A supporter and a gun owner, I am not for unrestricted gun ownership nor should it be unlimited.
I also believe that most of the things that gun control nuts are pushing will do nothing to protect innocent individuals.
Do you support universal background checks?

So, because in this one case, it might be a legally purchased gun and MAYBE he took it from a gun safe, that means that every other instance where a check might keep a dangerous person from having a weapon doesn't exist?
I'm with the above - the parents need to be charged for negligence.
Agree there should be charges levied against his parents.
Interesting Fact: The Parkland shooter bought his gun legally with a background check.
Another Interesting Fact: Both of the synagogue shooters (Pittsburgh and San Diego) bought their guns legally with a background check.
If this information is correct, I do not believe the parents should be charged with negligence:
Investigators believe the two suspects in the shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch smashed into the locked gun cabinet at the home of the adult suspect’s parents Tuesday morning, stole the weapons and used them in the shooting later that day, a high-ranking source with knowledge of the investigation tells Denver7.
The source also told Denver7 that investigators believe the two suspects spray-painted “F--- society” and “666” on the vehicle of one of the parents and tried to set the vehicle on fire before they left to go to the school. Investigators are looking into whether the suspects were attempting to make the scene look like their actions at the school Tuesday came as the result of them being bullied, the source said.
