Subject: Absent from school-how many days this year?
I think both my ES kids will have missed 3 each by the end of the year, all for travel to visit relatives. One of them might have stayed home sick one day, but I honestly can’t remember. We’ve been lucky.

2nd grade. One religious holiday. One sick day (stomach bug). And one upcoming day that we need to travel for a wedding.

My kids would have lost 10 days a month throughout ES if I’d kept them home for stomach aches. Besides the impact on their education, I’m a teacher and got just 10 days of leave a school year. I kept them home for fevers.

DS13, 7th zero. Some late arrivals or early pickups for dr appointments but no full days.
Most years have been the same but we’ll never forget that he missed the very first day of kindergarten with a fever.
