Roughly this though I'm a couple years older. I'm also from Upstate NY (Finger Lakes) and was with the same kids from preschool through 12th grade. A lot of my friends stayed together in college (SUNY schools), too. Every big holiday we have a gathering with 20 or more of us.

I have about a dozen friends from middle school and high school that I am in touch with (beyond just FB), including half a dozen that I spend a girls weekend with every year. From earlier childhood I only have a couple, but that’s partly because I switched elementary schools after third grade and then went to private for middle and high school.

I always thought having lots of friends from growing up was the norm. That has been the case for me and my siblings and honestly my parents and just about everyone in our community where we grew up. This is interesting.

I’m close with a middle school friend. However, this person lives abroad, so we might only see each other once a year. We still send emails and interact through social media, however.

I’m in touch with an elementary school friend. Though we’ve known each other a long time, we rarely talk or see one another. It feels more like we’re acquaintances than friends at this point.

DH has two friends from high school. He’s loyal to them, but this year they’ve both demonstrated that they need to grow up, so those relationships are becoming more distant.

1, but we went through a huge lull before instragram brought us back together. It's pretty superficial, though, as we live FAR apart from each other. I did see her this family, and it was really wonderful for our children to meet. We've been friends since we were 2 (her mom baby sat me as a child).

I had many friends growing up but never felt super close. I decided to not come back home after college. Most of my “clique” moved back and are still there 20 years later. They are all still friends, but I lost touch (except FB).

I’m fine not living in the past.

I am still friends with one person from kindergarten. We aren't always very close physically, but we keep in touch when we aren't . I know if I really needed something from her, she would be there. We have been in each other's weddings, helped each other move numerous times, watched each other's kids, and given each other countless advice.

zero. FB friends with a few, but don't actually see them. I went through a big friend shift in middle school, and I'm still good friends with one of those kids. One from high school.

I have one friend but she is currently getting a divorce and is in a dark place.

Taking the people who routinely comment or like stuff on Facebook out of the equation...

I have three friends from high school whom I keep in contact with. I talk to each of them at least twice a month. I'm 36. I can see one of them eventually dropping off. We dated a few years back, so we'll probably fall off if either of us gets married. The other two seem like they'll stay around for the long haul.

Other than facebook acquaintances, I have no friends prior to high school. I stay in touch with 2 of them.

I was in the same school system K - 12 in a medium size town. I am still friends with 4 people I knew since grade school. We each have lunch a few times a year and get our kids together to play.

2 from childhood but it’s mostly through Facebook since is in PA and one in CA.

3 from high school but again mostly by Facebook since we live across the country from each other.

It's weird that some of you are counting FB friends.
