Single childless forty two year old woman here. If you don't have kids, and you don't want your own, and you don't mind dating divorced dads, the dating world is you oyster. I actually find it WAY easier to meet men to date now than I did when I was in my late 20s thru mid 30s, which seems crazy but I swear it is true. However, they have kids. At 41 you can still kinda date the late 30s, early 40s guys who haven't had kids yet, so there's that too. But the mid to late 40s divorced dads will be beating down your door.

What is that supposed to mean? Sleep around?

She seems to feel hopeless about the future.

I think anything is possible except maybe having kids.

Yes. She should bring her cooze to the public square forthwith.

yes, the problem is finding committment with someone you actually want to be with. But in general women start out with an advantage on men IMO

Does she want to have kids? This is just me, but I think if I were in her situation, I would be interested in divorced dads. She could have a step-parent relationship (granted, not easy) with the kids in case she can't have her own. I don't know that I would even want to have my own child in my 40's, though I know many on DCUM do. There can be a good step-parent relationship as long as you can work together with the mother.

I had absolutely no trouble starting over at 46. It is amazing to be appreciated, desired, valued. Life is in color again.

That “rule” has always been for donkeys.
