There are many ways to be a good mom and role model.

Perhaps you could spend some time talking to your kids about the problematic portrayals of women in media.

Teach your kids that only pretty people have value.
Fat, ugly people aren't worth your time.
Nice values.

I think OP was having a moment, not that this is the sum total of her understanding of parenthood.

OP, don't try to apply historical fiction to today's world. Anyway, those "influencers" will be telling your DD all about it. Your job is probably to be a counterbalance to that.

OP is some disappointed DCUM husband who thinks all moms let themselves go. Nice try.

Betty Draper was a horrible mom. Why would you want to emulate that!

You do realize that "Betty Draper" is actually an actress, who works out and diets like her job depends on it, because it does? And that the actress never would've been cast for this particular role if she weren't outstandingly beautiful?

Don't base your worth on your looks; if that's a lost cause, please don't impart that attitude to your daughters.

I'd rather have a loving frumpy mother ANY DAY of the week over Betty Draper.

You clearly need to watch the whole series.
