"Part of the reason the GOP is afraid of Muslim voices in politics is because they can't compete with what we add to the conversation.
We're advocating for economic justice, challenging conventions of American foreign policy, and providing our unique perspectives for the public."
Curious as to what "unique perspective" he is talking about.
I know that he wants to "challenge conventions of American foreign policy"--he's made that clear in earlier comments, but, I'm not sure what other "unique perspective" he brings.
I have a neighbor originally from Iraq. He is now an American Citizen. He has a very interesting view of our Middle East policy as someone who lived through the consequences and still has family there.
I don't know about all Muslims, but there certainly is something to be said for thinking about the consequences of our foreign policy on others in those countries.

They are stupid in the sense that they are pushing policies that will be the demise of the county's wealth and prosperity, and ultimately a harm to the kids they think they are protecting with their 'do-good' philosophies. And they are lazy for simply buying into political hype and talking points rather than actually digging into pros and cons.
You can disagree with them, but they are NOT lazy and stupid. Just stop using words you do not understand.
