Just disgusting. Way to coach...

He has hundreds of former players who are fond of him and are glad that he was their coach. He is a super competitive guy. I knew the parties involved and it did not surprise me that there was a conflict that got to that point--i.e., it takes two to tango, as they say. One consequence of that is that Cabell has been constantly haunted by an anonymous poster on this board who has it in for him and the Blackwolf guy. Personally, I did not always see eye to eye with Cabell, but am glad my son played for him and his guys for a good 7 or 8 years. My son is too. He runs a professional organization, especially in the youth sports industry. That pretty much sums up the "real story" on Maddux from a guy who knows him a lot better than whoever keeps trying to trash him.
Yes, he wrote a few harsh emails threatening children and their parents by saying he would blackball them if their kids didn't stick with the program. That's not harsh or competitive.
He also runs a program continually caught cheating by playing kids from older rosters down onto younger rosters. The entire program had to forfeit at the Hershey tournament last summer and one of their teams had to forfeit in this year's HoCo playoffs. We aren't talking about kids born prior to the US guideline of 9/1. He plays kids enrolled in an older class in lower class divisions.
Still that is nothing compared with the history of BW guy. That stated there are good programs run by good people.

My DS is in his fourth year of travel lacrosse and I have never encountered any "ne'er do wells". He has been with great coaches and great kids, and has had a tremendous experience.
Overly defensive much? What a crazy helicopter response.
Just because your sheltered snowflake had a good experience in no way means the sport had (or does not have) more bad apples than other sports.
Hint: Your experiences are not universal.
Hint: it is much more crazy to assert that lacrosse is universally "rife with ne'er do wells."
If the sport was "rife with ne'er do wells" and has more bad apples than other sports, then I couldn't possibly "shelter" my "snowflake" from that, could I?
Just because your kid had a bad experience does not mean the sport is more awful than other sports.
I don’t have a kid who plays lacrosse. I’m a former lacrosse player.

And the sketchy behavior at that tournament he runs? Check the teams attending year by year and you will see the quality going down because they good teams are going elsewhere what with all the shenanigans. This was just a few months ago mind you.

I have never seen any of this in five years of travel lacrosse. Garbage post. Get lost, troll.
Couldn't agree with the post of wishing my kid never got involved in lacrosse. The culture is awful and the parents are intolerable. Your post shows the level of the parent behavior in this sport. My kids played just about every sport except hockey and sitting on the sidelines of lacrosse games watching and listening to lax parents was torture.
