this happened to another kid once, they photoshopped her kid in, and she paid for 30 copies of the class picture, and sent every family the class picture with her kid in it, so all families would have her kid in the class picture.
This is really weird. Not the photoshopping part. But buying the pictures and giving them to the other families. Some people have way too much time.
Anonymous wrote:I wouldn't ask, It's a class picture that she won't remember, you likely won't keep, and it's just so unnecessary. Please OP, you will have enough hills to climb and battles to fight, don't make this an issue.
Anonymous wrote:What? No. Now every parent has to get their kids all gussied up again for another picture day? This is so not a big deal.

Anonymous wrote:My child was reviving special ed services at her public school and her teacher forgot this and the class took their school picture without her. This upset my child. It was obviously an accident and the teacher felt bad and apologized but would you try to follow up with the school to see if another picture could be scheduled? I feel bad three my child missed her class picture due to her special ed services; she is frustrated when she is pulled from class for those and misses other things as it is. This was speech.

But now that it has, asking the photographer to bring all their equipment back to the school to retake one picture is not a reasonable request. It's also probably $$$--the schools get a bulk deal for one day of processing classes through like a machine but a special session for just one class is something else. Who is going to pay for this?
Most schools offer retakes for individual students and have the days set up in advance. It is not going to cost the school extra. The $$$ comes from the picture packages that are purchased.
Right - and then another kid who is absent that day will miss the picture, and his parents will (rightfully) complain that he was there on picture day, and why on earth should he not be in the picture?
??? Are people posting here who have no experience with class pictures? There will be proofs of all of them. Order the one you like best. Personally, I choose the one where my kid has his eyes open and looks the least goofy. I don't give a crap which one the other parents choose.
OP's kid didn't miss her individual school photo (well, maybe she did, but that isn't the issue, and there are always reshoots of them). She missed the *class picture* - the picture of the entire class. Which is why, not coincidentally, the title of the post is "Child got left out of class picture."
So, I guess, the question is, do *you* actually have kids, or are you just a dumbass?
dp. I think it is you that has the reading comp problem. Other people are saying that it's not going to cost extra for the photographer to retake the class picture because the photographer will already be there at the school another time to do retakes for students who missed their individual pics the first time around. While the photographer is there, it would just be a matter of another 10 minutes or whatever to assemble this class for another class picture.
And then as for complaints that another kid will be left out of this new class picture because he was absent this day, another poster was saying that all the various class pictures can be available for order on the website (as it's all website ordering these days) and parents can pick the one their child is in.
You following?
All you have demonstrated is that multiple people, yourself included, are idiots. Go reread the original post. Are you seriously suggesting that means individual photos?
Come on, use your head.
Oh, for f*ck's sake...
THEY SNAP SEVERAL SHOTS OF EACH CLASS! THERE ARE MULTIPLE PROOFS FOR CLASS PICTURES! YOU PICK THE ONE YOU LIKE BEST! YOU CAN CHOOSE ONE FROM THE DAY YOUR CHILD WAS THERE! OP WILL CHOOSE ONE FROM THE DAY HER CHILD WAS THERE! THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

They offer INDIVIDUAL retakes for a class picture? This makes no sense.
Sigh. The word "individual" means one person. The photographer plans to return anyway to take pictures of the individual students who missed picture day. During that visit he or she can also retake photos of entire classes if necessary.
It's just not that complicated.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:That sucks but I would probably ask the teacher to do one informally rather than professionally.
But if you want to make this your hill to die on, you can.
THIS is a great idea. Ask for an informal pic of the whole class and frame that one for your house.
