Virginia is a right to work State. The club may not have even given the coach a reason. They may have simply told the coach that their contract will not be renewed and the coach could have quit. Either way, you really are not entitled to know why for many, many reasons. It is certainly human nature to want to know but you should not have any expectation that you will be told by the club. Only the coach can really tell you what they were told and that is if they care to do that.
They were not given a reason. They did not quit. They were simply told by email that their contract was being terminated.

What is allowable by law is not always the best business practice when trying to retain your customers and salvage your reputation. No one has to know why specific individuals were let go but a general explanation of why this huge upheaval of staff mid year was so urgent that it couldn't wait until the summer would've been good to hear. More than a few parents stayed with SYC even after they hiked the price this year so their child could train under their coach. It is not unreasonable to expect transparency when paying this kind of money.
The prices more than doubled, correct? And no longer include the uniforms? I remember there being sticker shock at last year's tryouts.

The question is will players make the trip to syc with no NPL or CCL. I don't see CCL letting them in after they blew them off a year ago and the fact that LMVSC is in.

However, I and many other parents were disappointed when he abandoned his team in the middle of the season during a national tournament. That just hurts the kids and reflects poorly on the coach and the club.
As to rumors that he'll bring his crew, I suspect there will be a few coaching changes in both clubs at the end of this season. But, don't expect a TD or a couple of coaches to be a quick fix or make a significant change in direction. If the only thing that changes are the faces, then more SYC coaches will leave or be dismissed and more players will be redistributed or leave SYC.
I don't wish ill on anyone and I hope for the sake of our kids that both clubs pass through this with minimal disruption. We respect the sport and our sister clubs too much to wish for this kind of turmoil happening at SYC now.
