The key word here is "couple," you dimwit. There are two people in a couple. You think a single person should sleep in a queen bed, while two people sleep on a double futon? That's idiotic.

Agreed! Whether they are married, dating, or adult sisters willing to share a bed, TWO bodies get the biggest available. Duh.

Plenty of couples sleep in full size beds. It’s only for a few nights. They will live.

Yes, "it's only for a few nights," indeed. MIL will live. On a futon built for one. And she's one body. How perfect is that?!

I would be hesitant to give out my master bedroom. The only time we have done so was when we were hosting 4 couples, and a hotel was not an option since they had kids and we wanted to keep everyone together.

In your case OP, it doesn’t seem necessary to do so. If I were you, I would give your auntie and uncle the baby’s room since they are there for only a few days, and your MIL the guest room. Good luck.

Next year tell your aunt and uncle to get a hotel.

I don't get this either. Being married or being a man means you should get the better bedroom or bed?
MIL stays in the guest room, aunt and uncle use the futon while visiting for a few days.

Use your brains, folks. People sharing a bed get the biggest available guest bed. Single guests take what's left.

Again, some more: Each and every adult in this scenario can have a queen or king bed...hotel.
