Had you been paying attention in history class you would know Hitler was democratically elected. He did not run on a platform of eliminating the Jews. That was secret. But he did blame Jews for the economic problems in Germany at the time. The anti-semitism rampant in Germany at the time bought into Hitler’s words. It escalated into mass murder. Gee. It seems like I recall an outgoing Congress passing very major legislation at the very last minute because the controlling party had just lost a Senate seat in Massachusetts. And, they passed it even though they lost the seat because of the possibility of that very legislation.

An election that took Democrats from 60 seats down to 59? Because passing legislation supported by 59% of Senators (representing an even greater percentage of the population) would have been anti-democratic? You're insane.
