I find myself alternating between loving and hating this show. The scenes of her parents in France was charming, but SO unrealistic. I kept thinking maybe Miriam was beginning to miss her grandchildren when they had her look wistfully at children passing by... but no, apparently she didn't miss them at all. I find her very self-absorbed, much like Midge.

This is another pet peeve of mine with the show - NO, they were not. Or at least, not in the circles Midge was from (UWS, wealthy, etc.). I watched the show with my mom, who grew up in that era and she said the constant f-bombs were so unrealistic. It's almost like the creators wanted to be sure they made this show edgier than Gilmore Girls, so they throw in the most awkward cursing. I don't mind cursing at all, when it's called for - but this is so gratuitous.

I’m not Jewish (or a guy) but I get all the references. Maybe because I have read a fair amount of stories with Jewish characters? Not sure. Anyway, this is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite shows too.

Many guys who I know (all Jews and/or gay) love this show. If you are not Jewish I feel like you are missing a lot of the in-culture references. This is one of my favorite shows of all time.

Oh it’s all starting starting to remond menof the Gilmore girls more and more. The know it all ness and the constant conflict between the generations. I rewatched GG and like it much less now that I’m 30 something and a mother andbhqve an improved relationship with my own mother.

This. I feel like they were all so much more selfish in season two. Season one has her playing with the kids at least. In this one they don’t even show the kids on the vacation. And she makes the touring decision so easily. I loved Benjamin and I think they had chemistry. I have to keep reminding myself that the character is so young although she has 2 kids.
