DH 55, DC 4 so preschool!!

DH is 51 and I am 45; we have a first grader and fourth grader.

I am 48, DH is 50. We have a 6 +9 year old

Um, kids’ classmates’ parents, I mean!

I’m 49 and husband is 48; our kids are 5 (K) and 7 (1st). We live in DC and while I’m on the older side almost all my kids classmates are late 30s or early 40s.

50 w/ 5 year old. Adopted.

This thread is both heartening and a reminder of one reason we’ll probably never leave this area. I’m 41 and pregnant with our 2nd, who is due to arrive shortly after my 42nd birthday. I was 38 when I had our first. We’re not there yet, but I’ll definitely be in my late 40s/early 50s with kids in ES.

I’m 54 and we have an 8-year-old and a teenager. My husband is 60. We live in NW DC.

56 with twin 9 year olds

I'm 37 with a 10 yo and where I live (very close in MoCo) I am definitely the odd mom out. My 5th grader's friends' moms are almost all about 15 years older than I am and some of the dads are 20+ my senior. It's no biggie but sometimes I'm the one who feels judged...and I was almost 30 when I had him!

47 here with 9 and 11 year olds.

My husband's 52 and I just turned 50. Our oldest is a 14yo HS freshman, younger one is in 4th grade about to turn 10yo. I don't feel old when I'm dealing with parents of friends of my older kid, but my 4th grader has some friends whose moms are literally 15 years younger than me. That's when I feel ancient and decrepit.

52 and 51 with children aged 10 and 6. One small plus to the kids going to an area private school is that there are many other older parents.

Mine started middle school this year but I am 59. Arlington has a fair number of older moms. Just get used to it. My kid told me about a boy in her class who had him at 18. DC couldn't believe I was told enough to be his mom's mom.
