It is amazing how many people lack basic knowledge about so many things, including "nationalism". It's funny that many of these SJWs would probably cheer the concept of nationalism when learning about the Revolutions of 1848, or self-determination after WWI, or the post WWII Independence movement in former colonies or creating a "homeland" for Palestinians. Grow up, people.
The racial connotations associated with this now are merely a projection by liberals. MAGA doesn't mean "Make America White" or "let's go back to the 50's." It means, start thinking about the interests of America and Americans when we make policy decisions. It means that we reject unaccountable supranational organizations as a means for decision-making. It means not bowing to the leaders of other countries. Don't like nationalism...

then find somewhere that you are proud to live, and please make your way there. Love the Nationals, the bobbleheads of the Presidents and LOVE THE USA!!!!!

Yes. You see the thing with alacrity.
The Washington Redskins should be renamed the Washington Fedskins. Honors most of their ticket holders and dishonors nobody.
The Nationals should be renamed the Saul Alinskys. Such a triumphantly cultural marxist polity needs a baseball team named after their hero. Major League Baseball needs to show its fealty to the great man who, with the able assistance of the Frankfurt School and its acolytes, has taken over so much of America.

Maybe Jeff Bezos will buy the team and name it something.

What are good alternatives? I think "Warriors" has a nice ring to it. "WASHINGTON WARRIORS"! It's catchy!
Plus, it always make me think of "social justice warrior", which is pretty much the polar opposite of a "national", so it works on a couple different levels at the same time.
But every time I hear "national" I think "racist"
So move to a different city and then you won’t have to worry about a racist team name. Stop trying to change what most people are not worried about. You know what I’m worried about? —> the opioid crisis , —> the ballooning student loan bubble. —> Russian and North Korean nukes
A team name is the least of our worries, quit the manufactured drama it’s annoying and why President Trump will continue to win.
