I believe you're only supposed to fill out the intent form when you get a letter by mail saying your child is either accepted or waitlisted. Hopefully we get the mail soon!
I wonder if they are sending out letters to all 8th graders or just those who got in or are wait-list.
My kid got placement in one of the VPA program and we got an email and text message and it was clear that they were accepted.
Why didn't they just use that same system? Is it because everyone is entered automatically so they don't have emails for everyone?
They're sending it to every 8th grader who applied with either acceptance, waitlist, or rejection. No idea why they don't use a better platform in this day and age. Things could've been so much faster and stress-free, but then again its pg county
You no longer apply for the STEM magnet high school programs for 9th grade admission. All 8th graders are considered. So are they going to send out letters to the ~11,000 8th graders in PGCPS.
I wonder why they just couldn't send a message via SchoolMax.
I hope they have the good sense to extend the deadlines for VPA, IB etc. who have to commit by 4/1. Once you commit you lose your slot in other programs.
