I was part of the petwoth playgroup. two parents were always required to be there, every single parent had to volunteer like 4 times per semester. It was definitely parent run. regulating this will force parents to take up full time day care spaces making the shortage even greater.

Guy here....When I was a kid, we would go to each other's houses and play video games almost every day. Or we would ride our bikes some place and cause trouble. Or play football outside. Good thing we didn't have "playgroups" back in the '80's or all the parents in the neighborhood would have been "criminals".

This is not a group of parents getting together to play paddy-cake or run around in the park. They're running a preschool, plain and simple. Makes sense that there is some level of oversight for health and safety reasons.


if they hire staff and bill it as childcare, I tend to agree.


They do neither.
