I haven't seen the GDA teams play yet but as far as the BDA teams, yes I do think they play a more possession based style than Arlington teams have typically been known for.
Arlington has always been hit or miss when it comes to possession vs run-and-gun. Well, mostly miss, but there were always some exceptions. Now, combined with the coaches they've brought in from outside, they've put their more possession based coaches in charge of their DA teams.
Also, didn't the GDA teams bring in a lot of non-Arlington players? Especially on the 05s, it looks like less than half the team is from Arlington.
For the boys its kind of misleading. Many of their 05s and 06s were previously on Arlington teams, but only for a year before being eligible for the DA. The reality is they were mostly developed elsewhere.
On GDA: we played them this year and last year. Even with new players, same soccer style. A blend of possession and lota of run and gun. Same coach too.

This thread has been discussing the GDA since the start. I think it would make more sense to start a separate BDA thread so not to confuse the topic.
Why does it matter? They both fall under the same Director. They should have the same goals and philosophy.
I tend to agree.

Anonymous wrote:Arlinton has had girls DA going now what, a total of 3 months?? These teams have the exact same coaches and players fed on the same Red system diet we have played for years. I really doubt anything has changed style-wise because they went to DA and other clubs now play their B teams which are still playing long ball.
