I mean, it’s only a penny to ME, but damn, they probably make a mint off of charging every Sprite that penny every day. I’m tempted to email them.

To tell them what? Buy it or don't, your choice.

Well, I wasn’t told about it. I only noticed it on the receipt. If a million people weren’t told about the penny and bought regardless, that would make McDonalds some hefty pocket change, wouldn’t it? Perhaps they should let people know about the upcharge.

And chocolate milk has more sugar and caffeine than the Sprite, so...

So a million people pay $.01 equals $10,000. Not much of an incentive for them...

Why on earth do people think the juice has as much sugar as a Sprite?

They don’t need to tell you about it if it’s in their posted menu. I’m guessing there’s an asterisk on the board and you ignored it.

So, you change the happy meal and expect no change it amount you pay? If any, why didn't you ask why the change only cost one cent. Someone had to notice you changed it and instead of just crabbing the milk, juice, water or whatever it comes with, they had to take a cup which costs, fill it with ice and soda, put the top on and give you a straw. They should have charged you a dollar for it. And no, mikidees is not getting rich off of that cent.
Stay away fro mikidees and any restaurant if a cent is a problem. We are not discussing a tax on the soda here, you are complaining about one cent.

McDonald’s happy meal? Why would feed your child cheap trash as a reward?

Oh wow. Marginal. WHO CARES!

It’s an extra 1.5 teaspoons of sugar, in a relatively small drink. That isn’t marginal

I didn’t know it was a thing, I thought maybe this particular store was trying to make money by being sneaky. Disregard.

They did. It was on your receipt. Also, where are you that a happy meal is 2.99??

Look at the dates, PP. This was started in 2018.

So I just went through the drive-thru and got a happy meal and got an upcharge for the juice that's supposed to be included for 55 cents. I'm not sure when they started doing this cuz I've never looked at my receipts in the 30 plus years. I've been buying these. And it doesn't say anything on the drive up menu about an upcharge. The website says it's included with the meal. So a lot of people are being scammed out of 55 cents which isn't that big a deal now that I know. But when you can consider millions of people, how much are they making with this?

Hey bozo, that is what happens when your dumbass orders a drink that does not come with the meal. Can you not read? You probably were under charged by .99.

My guess is so they can report or otherwise boast that their kids means don't have soda.

I live near two McD and one of them cannot explain why they charge almost $1 more than the other. The cashier tried to explain that their locationwas Alexandria City and the cheaper McD was located in Fairfax county, clearly, she doesn’t know the city boundaries.
