Too many men are pervs and think they can do anything they want.

This!!!!!! I can't believe ppl aren't mentioning the taco bell joke. What an awful man!!!!
Exactly. Hypocrisy and double standards on racist comments because he is AA.
We will take care of him. You take care of white folks that make inappropriate comments.
But I suppose that's the point, right?
White women have primarily led the me, too movement...calling out bad behavior of primarily white men in power.
And white people regularly call out racist behavior. Any inappropriate comment by a public figure or covered by media is quickly called out over social media. But this incident hasn't prompted the same public outcry, right? Maybe it will. It certainly should. That comment was ridiculous and should be called out by everyone.
You are missing my point. Black folks will take care of the pastor - believe me. It might not be public but many, many people were upset by what he said and did.
Similarly, white folks will take care of white folks who say and do stupid things.
But that's not the point.
The point is that all of society must collectively feel outrage and publicly call out inappropriate behavior in order to change things.
There's another thread about Giuliana Rancic returning to E. She lost her million dollar career because she made a stupid joke about Zendaya's hair smelling like weed. She made that joke on a show whose purpose is to make jokes about celebrity fashion, and she lost her career because of the public outcry. Why? Because it was deemed racist. Now, as a white person, I'm confident that weed transcends race. As someone who has hippie potsmoking friends who have dreads or wore them back in the 90s when many college kids did, I'm confident that dreads and braids transcend race. Yet, G lost her career.
While white privilege exists, that doesn't mean that only white people are capable of saying racist things.
And there is definitely a higher tolerance for inappropriate comments from people of color. White people are held to a higher standard when it comes to racism and sexism. They just are. I doubt this pastor will lose his career over his racist comment uttered while literally groping a woman's breast in public on film. Of course, nothing would please me more than to be proven wrong.

But nobody will call out the racism. I wonder if AAs think it's funny? Do they not realize it's racist and offensive? Or do they only recognize racism that offends them?
Anonymous wrote:I don’t think the Taco Bell joke was racist. She is Italian. It was inappropriate for him to be shading her at the funeral, though. And definitely disgusting of him to grope her. There was no reason for him to be touching her at all.

Unless she comes out and says that in her opinion he was deliberately groping I would give this one a pass.
