I really, really hate the questions I'm getting from my kids. This presidency has destroyed the innocence of many.

Feel lucky my kid had Obama for our President when he was younger and more impressionable . He took AP Government last year and at the end of the course he told me that he came away with a deeper respect (and gratitude) for our Constitution but also came away with the conviction that the rights and principles we are given by the Constitution depend primarily on the honor and principles of the people in power- without good people to uphold it the constitution is just a piece of paper.
It was a mature insight but one you would expect to hear from a teenager in a flawed democracy not one lucky enough to be born in the US.
