I am sorry, PP but that is rather creepy.
I actually know someone like p(PP) in my family. Very functional and sensible people. The DH have stuffed animals that his mom made for him before she died in his childhood. He has the majority of them in the bedroom. Some in the car and one on his office desk. No one asks him about it. He is very normal but he needs his comfort items or lucky charm, I think. The wife has a tattered t-shirt that she keeps with her and will wear occasionally at home when she is feeling in need of comfort.
Knowing someone in real life who does that has made me realize that it is not creepy. If they are good and loving people how does it matter. They have capacity for loving others and they also have great empathy for others. This is not someone who will be a cold blooded killer. That's for sure!
